چکیده
We introduce an image based algorithmic tool for analyzing multi-component shapes here. Due to the generic concept of shapes, our method can be applied analysis a wide spectrum applications where real objects are analyzed on their - i.e. corresponded black and white images. The allocates number shape, herein called measure. This number/measure is invariant with respect affine transformations established theoretical frame developed in this paper. In addition, easy implement robust (e.g. noise). provide two small but illustrative examples related aerial galaxy analysis. Also, we some synthetic better understanding measure behavior.

Affine-Invariant Skeleton of 3D Shapes
In the recent past, different application fields have showed an increasing interest in shape description oriented to recognition and similarity issues. Beyond the application aims, the capability of handling details separating them from building elements, the invariance to a set of geometric transformations, the uniqueness and stability to noise represent fundamental properties of each proposed...
متن کاملAffine Invariant Retrieval of Shapes Based on Hand-Drawn Sketches
This paper presents a compact and efficient shape signature that can be applied to shape retrieval from handdrawn sketches. The two proposed invariant features that constitute our affine invariant signature are: (a) angle between spoke vectors, and (b) cumulated normalized area between consecutive spoke vectors. The signature can be computed efficiently from an input shape and supports fast sim...
متن کاملLine Correspondences Between Two Images Using Local Affine Moment Invariant
This paper proposes an algorithm for matching line segments between two images which are related by affine transformations using local affine moment invariant (AMI). Instead of using traditional methods for objection recognition in which each object is globally represented by a vector of affine moment invariants, here each pair of line segments extracted from each image is locally represented b...
متن کاملAffine-invariant geodesic geometry of deformable 3D shapes
Natural objects can be subject to various transformations yet still preserve properties that we refer to as invariants. Here, we use definitions of affine-invariant arclength for surfaces in R in order to extend the set of existing non-rigid shape analysis tools. We show that by re-defining the surface metric as its equi-affine version, the surface with its modified metric tensor can be treated...
متن کاملMulti-Scale Autoconvolution for Affine Invariant Pattern Recognition
This paper describes a novel image transform called Multi-Scale Autoconvolution which is invariant with respect to affine transformations of the spatial image coordinates. The transform can be applied directly to image patches without segmentation. Algebraically, the transform is simple requiring only rescaling of the image and computation of two-dimensional convolutions that can be performed e...
